Many people see the word "Carbide" And they think they are good. However the various grades of carbide are not created equal. Helical which is a sister company to Harvey both use a higher grade of carbade then others like YG1 for example. Don't let a cheaper price fool you... Weigh Your carbide and then do test cuts and tool life studies. I woukd but 1 Helical or Harvey EndMill over 3 YG1 tools for the same price. Because why risk the part your making with the cheap stuff. The Z-plus coating performed flawlessly! I have been cutting .3 deep .1875 wide cuts for 12hrs of straight cutting without any noticable wear. Mind you... Speeds and feeds and a bit higher coolant concentration are key... I personally like to use old welding tips as coolant nozzles to evacuate chips and avoid chip binding.
